Next design choice to make is the shape. Do you need a tall skinny flower or a round full flower. For the most part, Orchids are tall flowers. The Cymbidium, Spider and Vanda Orchids tend to be tall and skinny with the Cybidium having the most vertical appearance. The Cattleya, Oncidium and Dendrobium tend to be fuller and rounder. If you need something to fit an unusual space, Moon Orchids and Phaleanopsis have an arching appearance so the can adapt to odd spaces more easily.

The last choice to make is how powerful the color is in the Potted Silk Orchid. Most orchids have relatively small flowers, especially Odontoglossum, Spider and Moon Orchids. Dendrobium Orchids have very large flowers as do Cattleya. Cymbidium and Phalaenopsis have a nice elegant splash of color.

Potted Silk Orchids are perfect for accenting your d cor without overpowering color. They don t need much maintenance and they are always in bloom.

Also, year round fertilizer is necessary. You can use a liquid fertilizer which is balanced or even a timed-release version. During the cymbidium orchid plants growth phase you will need to give them a supplement fertilizer as well.

Cymbidium orchid plants can produce some of the largest flowers and ones which will last 5- 7 weeks amid the wash of great colors. Have fun with these plants, they'll re-pay you time and time again.

Cattleya must be easier for folks to grow because most of us do not enjoy the benefits of a greenhouse.
